Ian’s nesting boxes for swifts were blocked until this afternoon, 29 April, to keep out the starlings. The photo shows the first swift already in occupation before 7.40pm. This is the fifth year in this box.
Reports show that very few swifts have arrived back in the UK so far, they more usually arrive here in mid May.
