Communal singing brings so many benefits. It:
· facilitates social bonding, so is a good way to make friends.
· reduces blood pressure, heart rate and stress hormones.
· increases levels of wellbeing and life satisfaction.
It is important for dementia patients to remember the songs that they love.
BadbySings is all about singing for fun, and feeling good. Whatever your ability, you will be welcome to come and sing with us.
We have over 30 regular singers, and more on occasions. We are a mixed, friendly group. And we have found that, however we feel at the start of a session, we are smiling and relaxed by the end. And we know that our voices are improving.
So, whatever your ability, men and women, come and join us. We sing our favourite songs, we learn and sing harmonies, we discuss lyrics, chat noisily, laugh, move. We go on singing-related group outings.
We sing in Badby Village Hall every week on Tuesdays 7.30 to 9pm. Sessions are £1.50 to cover the cost of the hall and equipment.
Please contact Maxine on Badbysings@gmail.com if you would like to know more, or you would like to be added to our email circulation list.
