Neighbourhood Plan

Following a successful referendum result on 24th January 2019 the Neighbourhood Plan for Badby was “made” and now forms part of the Development Plan for Daventry District Council.

A neighbourhood plan is:

    • a document that sets out planning policies for the neighbourhood area – planning policies are used to decide whether to approve planning applications
    • written by the local community, the people who know and love the area, rather than the Local Planning Authority
    • a powerful tool to ensure that the community gets the right types of development, in the right places
    • an important document with real legal force, therefore there are certain formal procedures that it must go through.

The 2022 review of parish actions identified in the Neighbourhood Plan was approved by the Parish Council on 9 January 2023.

The Neighbourhood Plan Key Performance Indicators report 2020-2025 (BPNP KPIs ) was discussed and approved by the Parish Council on 8 December 2025

A public briefing was held on 5th February 2026 – the presentation slides can be found here – Public Meeting – Defending the Neighbourhood Plan
