  Coming soon ….

Badby & District Film Society started life in January 2008.   Over the last 15 years, the Film Club has shown more than 300 different films and we now have more than 230 members drawn from Badby and its 8 closest villages.   Our film screenings – usually one or two each month – are held in Badby Village Hall.

Recent screenings have included: Belfast (2021), Bombshell (2019),
Little Women (2019), The Duke (2020), Dream Horse (2021), Cinema Paradiso (1989), Carmen (1984), Colette (2018), The French Dispatch (2021).

Our aim is to show good films in a friendly environment.   Our evenings start with half-an-hour of socialising fuelled by some excellent home-made canapés and other light refreshments.   Many members like to bring a bottle of wine or other alcoholic beverage to enjoy before or during the film screening.
Our big screen (5 metres across the diagonal), HD digital projector and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound system, together with the Village Hall’s comfortable theatre-style seating, ensure an enjoyable experience hard to match outside the commercial cinemas.   In addition, every film screening is preceded by a 5‑minute illustrated talk.

Membership of the Film Club is open to anyone over 16 and resident in Badby or its surrounding villages, or by invitation of an existing member.
Attendance at our shows is restricted to members and their guests.  Seats need to be booked in advance.
Just £15 buys life membership of the Film Club plus a free first screening.   Standard ticket prices are £7 for members, £9 for non-members or £5 for Under-16s.  The ticket prices include light refreshments and tea or coffee.
About four times a year we screen operas, with members bringing along a plate of food to share.

Our screenings are publicised by regular emails to members, as well as postings via local websites, community Facebook pages, notice boards, The Link and local newspapers.

We have built up a library of more than 350 DVDs, all available on loan to members free of charge.
The Film Club’s screen and projection equipment are available for hire on request by other village groups for parties, fund-raising events or other purposes.
