Badby Parish Council is consulted by the relevant Planning Authority (West Northamptonshire Council) on all planning applications within or adjacent to the parish boundaries. The views of the Parish Council are taken into account, but the final decision is made by the Planning Authority.
In considering each application, Badby Parish Council seeks and takes into account the application details made by the applicant, the views of parishioners and all relevant information.
To provide a vision and framework for development in the village and surrounding area, Badby Parish Council instituted a group that prepared a Neighbourhood Plan for Badby, which was adopted in 2019. This document has statutory power and must be considered by the Planning Authority when making its decisions.
Badby Parish Council may also be consulted or its views sought by other Governmental and non-Governmental bodies on matters affecting the parish, for instance waterways and highways.
