There are two types of grit bins in the village, clearly labelled as either West Northamptonshire Highways or Badby Parish Council, The West Northants Council grit bins are for roads and public paths and for use by Highways only. In the past, the Parish Council bins were also supposed to be for public roads and footpaths only. However, no-one has used the grit in there for quite some time (we have had a poke around and it still seems perfectly OK) so the Parish Council has decided to allow villagers to use it for private paths and driveways at your own risk. All we ask is that you only take what you need – once it is gone, it is gone. We will be re-positioning the grit bin at the bottom of Vicarage Hill on to a level surface, as it has become distorted and it is no longer watertight where it is.
