SHAPING BADBY’S FUTURE

At the Annual Parish Meeting on 18th May it was resolved to re-write the Badby Neighbourhood Plan in response to the new Local Plan which is due to be finalised in early 2027.

We need a small project group to take this forward, finding out what parishioners want and how they envisage the future of our beautiful village. Sophie Fitzhugh, Catherine Martin and Angela Murphy will be leading on this from the Parish Council, but we hope that this will be a community-focused process. With this in mind are calling out now for anyone with an interest in any of the four survey strands below to get involved and help shape Badby’s vision for the future.

Environment & Landscape – protect countryside, views, biodiversity, and open spaces

Housing & Development – support small-scale sustainable development within the village boundary

Heritage & Design – preserve historic character and high-quality design

Community & Infrastructure – support facilities/amenities, transport, IT, and local school/businesses

As part of the data collection for strand 1, then to continue as an ongoing project, we are also beginning a Badby Biodiversity record. Details to follow on how all villagers can contribute to that.

If you feel you have knowledge and expertise which might be useful and/or enthusiasm for being part of Badby’s future, please volunteer – initially by emailing clerk@badby-pc.gov.uk

We hope to have the first project group meeting in June.
