Scarecrow Festival & Fun Dog Show –

Image of a scarecrowThe Scarecrow Festival will take place from Friday 10 to Sunday 12 September. The theme is ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ but really, anything goes.

On the Sunday afternoon, there is also a Fun Dog Show, bottle tombola, home produce, games, teas, stalls, nature trail and displays around The Green and more displays and teas in the Church.

Reminders that competition entry forms for scarecrows are due in to Jim McBeth (07717 414664) by Friday, 10 September with the entry fee of £5. Entry forms have been distributed with the September LINK in the village and are available in the Church and the Maltsters. Some straw to use has been kindly been donated and is in the pub car park.

Donations of bottles (full but not milk!) for the Bottle Tombola stall will be collected on Saturday 4 September afternoon. Please leave by your door if you are out or take to Woodcroft Cottage on Church Green.

 

Donations of home-made cakes for teas in church will be welcomed by Judy Jordan 0n 07752 384969.

Donations for the Local Produce Stall such as Jams, Chutneys, etc., can be dropped with Sophie Bell but please call first on 07866 428650.  Sophie is also very happy to sell any excess fruit or vegetables that you have.

The Fun Dog Show is open for entries from 1pm and judging starts at 2pm.

    5. Best Simple Obedience (Sit, Down, Stay)
    6. Best Junior Handler (Under 12)
    7. Best Dog Trick
    8. Most Gorgeous Puppy (Under 12 months)
    9. The Sausage Race
    10. Dog Judge would most like to take Home.

Entry is £2 per class or £5 for three classes.
