JUDGE RULES AGAINST BADBY PARISH COUNCIL

COURT DECISION : Parish Council Application for Judicial Review re Planning Application : 2024/4180/FULL. Land Adjacent to Bunkers Hill, Badby, Northamptonshire NN11 3AW : Use of land for the stationing of caravans for residential purposes and the erection of a dayroom and ancillary handstanding

Following a Judge’s review of the complex legal issues, permission to progress to the High Court has been refused. Costs of £8,303 have been awarded to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government and are therefore incurred by the Parish Council.

Thank you so much again to all villagers who contributed to our fund-raising campaign which was to raise the money required for our legal fees should permission be granted. All donors will be fully refunded and our clerk will be organising that over the next few weeks. (If donors are willing for us to retain all or part of your donation to help towards any future planning or legal advice, that would be greatly appreciated).  Any moneys retained by the Parish Council from this campaign would only be used for legal fees or other planning advice.

The Parish Council really appreciates the support we have had from the village over this challenging planning issue. We took it as far as we could and we are pleased with how the village has come together in the fight to keep Badby rural and beautiful.

We now turn our attention to the proposed housing development between Pound Lane and the A361.
