Festival Weekend 9-11 September

Calling all scarecrows:

If it was going to become extinct, what would you save first? That is the theme for this year’s scarecrows. You might think of the environment, you might think of your favourite meal, or film star. Whatever you’d like to save, if it was endangered – make a scarecrow of it. Please put your scarecrow out from Friday 9 September, so we can see them over the weekend. Judging will take place and the results will be announced on Sunday 11.

There will be rosettes for the best three themed scarecrows, three for scarecrows made by children (under the age of 11) and a number of other rosettes for the scarecrows which make the judge smile most! Entry per scarecrow is £5, entry forms will be put through the doors of every house at the end of August, entries must be received by 5pm on Saturday 10 September (to Ruth McBeth, Woodcroft Cottage, Church Green) Entry fees are donated to the church.

Calling volunteers and stall holder:

We are getting a good number of stall holders and people who wish to run games on the day, but we’d love to hear from more local crafts people who might like to have a stall in return for a donation to the church. We also need people to help run games, run stalls, serve teas, marshall the car park and help us set up and tidy up.
