Wine, nibbles, sunshine and flowers
I’ve been out with my watering can drenching my most recent plantings. I prefer giving more water, less often, to get water down into the soil rather than evaporate from the surface.
The hot weather was actually very welcome during our recent wine tasting evening at the Maltsters with Majestic Wine expect, Greg who was inspirational; over half the members came along to share wine and gardening stories. Pests and diseases were forgotten as wine glasses were emptied…
We are calling all growers, cooks, artists and children of Badby. It’s your chance to win prizes, praise and kudos in the annual show on Sunday 11 September 2022 in the Village hall. It’s the same day as the Scarecrow Festival, which is great. Come along with your home-grown flowers, veg, bakes and more. Amaze your friends and family (and all in Badby) with your skills and style whilst supporting your community. There’s a category for everyone and you’re all welcome. Please enter yourself and then spread the word. Every entry will be automatically entered into fabulous raffle. A group of lovely local judges will also award prizes.
To enter, complete a simple form then just bring your entry to the village hall in the morning on Sunday 11 September. Then come back later to collect your prize!
