In addition to longstanding issues and uncertainty that farm businesses have always faced, the increasingly regulatory environment in which they now need to operate, the extreme difficulties with cash flow that TB outbreaks bring to cattle farmers and the forthcoming removal of subsidies all take their toll – particularly amongst the elderly farming population who feel increasingly disconnected.
