The Little Shop closes –

Lucile Vercauteren writes:

After a few weeks of close monitoring, it has now become clear the Little Shop is not viable.

It was a great asset for the village during the first lockdown and we have received amazing support from the villagers. With the lifting of restrictions, sales started to decline and everyone went back to more regularity in their lives and to supermarkets.  Since most places reopened in May, sales have been bad and we can no longer sustain the cost of it with wages and fresh products.

For this reason, we have now decided to fully close the shop, with the last opening day being tomorrow, Wednesday 4 August.

It is a shame but I also believe it did entertain the villagers at the height of COVID restrictions.

We will carry on doing meat orders to collect for those who wish and bread to collect from the pub for the time being for those who are interested.
