Badby & District Horticultural Society

The Badby open gardens day was a huge success as always. ‘No-mow May’ met with a mixed reception; whilst it is recognised that aesthetically it doesn’t look as formal or neat, it has been observed by villagers that it is good for the bees and other insects.

Sadly, this year, there will be no annual horticultural show. The decision to cancel follows an amount of research and an electronic straw poll among members. If there is more uptake next year we will run it again. Please note that this decision will not affect the village fete and scarecrow festival which will still go ahead as advertised.

In the meantime, we hope you enjoy your gardens and villages’ open spaces throughout the summer. As a look forward, after the hugely successful wine-tasting evening, there will be another event at the end of summer. Further details will follow.
