Badby & District Gardening Club

Whilst some of you like to ‘prune hard’ (sometimes known as ‘giving it a birthday’), others are surgical and conservative with their secateurs. On this topic, one of our most distinguished member’s wife recently shared a vignette with me: she noted that her husband can spend hours staring at a plant whilst deciding what to do; then he will often make one single cut, before standing back to admire his work.
I love this and it made me think that perhaps in these times of ‘better, faster, tougher’ we could all sometimes stand back, have a think, then make a single small surgical snip – after all, sometimes, less is more.
Anyway, enough of my rambling. Please book your tickets for the wine tasting event on Friday 8 July in Badby Village Hall (email nev.snell@gmail.com).
Another key date for your diary is the Annual Show: Sunday 11 September. Further details to follow and ideas welcome (to richgreen1975&me.com).
