Subject to no significant worsening of Covid-19 stats or Government restrictions, we plan to relaunch the Film Club on Friday 25th March with a screening of A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood (2019). This is an American biographical drama inspired by the real-life friendship between children’s TV presenter Fred Rogers and journalist Lloyd Vogel. Directed by Marielle Heller, it stars Tom Hanks & Matthew Rhys. 109 mins, PG certificate.
During April, we intend to hold our much-delayed Annual General Meeting, to be followed by a free screening (for members only) of Passport to Pimlico (1949) U cert. This black-&-white Ealing comedy classic is being shown in memory of former Chairman and long term Committee member of the Society, Bill Dove, as it was one of his very favourite films. The date of the AGM will be announced shortly.
