The life with the Badby swifts!

On Wednesday 28 May 2025, Ian reported:

I thought the partner in box 1 was not the regular mate, but they settled, laid eggs and brooded them together for 10 days.

On Monday evening the original mate finally turned up (a lot of swifts had been delayed crossing the Med by unfavourable winds and large numbers finally crossed last week).

There were 3 swifts in the box until 1pm on Tuesday, fighting most of the time.  A short clip of the long fight is attached.

I assume the original partner won as the eggs have been thrown out.

So it will now be a very late brood in that box.

Meanwhile 2 eggs in each of the other 2 boxes.
