Hold the date – you’re invited to a weekend of activity in Badby 9 and 10 September 2023
This year’s Scarecrow Festival will be held around the village on the weekend of 9 and 10 September. The theme for the Scarecrow Festival is Kings and Queens, so if you’ve always wanted to make a scarecrow of Freddie Mercury, Disney’s Queen Elsa of Arendelle, a Queen Bee or King Charles, now’s the time. Hopefully the theme will give you some inspiration. We invite scarecrows to pop up from Friday, so there’s more time for visitors to see your handiwork.
The fun dog show, stalls and other family-fun will be held on the afternoon of Sunday 10 September, on The Green and around the village.
We’re planning to have stalls with local crafts and produce, a bottle tombola, scrumptious tea and cake in the church and more (still being planned at the moment). And of course we’ll make the annual draw of St Mary’s Draw, where three ticket holders will win a nice cash prize.
We’d welcome local stall holders who’d like to bring their wares to the festival, in exchange for a small donation. All profits will go to support the work of St Mary’s Church. And we’d also welcome anyone who’d like to help set up and keep things running smoothly on the day.
