We are looking for gardeners in Badby to raise money for charity. Would you open your garden to visitors next May?
You won’t be alone, but join people like you in Badby and another 3,000 across the county opening their gardens with the National Garden Scheme (NGS). Together, we raised £3m for charities (https://ngs.org.uk/)
Lots of people visited Badby gardens in May 2022 – not to judge, but to admire and have fun. They swapped horticultural stories and then had tea and cake at the church. We raised over £1,331. The Church also raised lots for their charities too.
Q. My garden is small
A. Great. Visitors love small gardens. They’re inspirational and packed with ideas.
Q. My garden has weeds
A. Everyone does. Just take out the biggest and the plants can do the talking!
Q. How does it work?
A. A visitor pays £5 for entry to all the gardens in Badby. We have four at the moment, but would like to double. They pay you £5 for entry, or just show you a ticket they have paid elsewhere.
Q. I’m nervous my garden isn’t quite right to open.
A. If you get compliments on your garden and friends go ‘oooooooh’, then other people are likely to enjoy your garden too.

If you fancy opening, then the NGS Northamptonshire team will first visit your garden to discuss what is possible.
We need to register gardens by August 2022 to open in May 2023 (although other gardens can be added to the NGS website beyond this date).
