Badby Parish Council are enormously grateful to Linda Clow for volunteering to be Flood Warden for the village. Linda has already been in contact with a flood warden in a neighbouring village for advice.
We now wish to announce an opportunity for all residents who feel they may be affected by flooding to attend a PUBLIC MEETING to discuss contingency arrangements.
The public meeting will be during the Public Participation section at the Parish Council meeting on Monday 10th February at 7.30pm (village hall). Linda will do a brief introduction with her initial thoughts then we will open up to the floor for discussion. Also at that meeting the Parish Council will be receiving costings for sandbags to be available here in Badby rather than having to wait for them to be delivered by WNC or Fire Service. (Delay is not great when the water level is rising).
It would be appreciated if anyone seeing this notice could tell non-Social Media users about the meeting.

Also, we must make sure that every flooding incident is reported to the council :
Linda is putting together a register of:
- Contact details for all households in Badby likely to be affected by flooding
- Volunteers (from anywhere in the village!) willing to help out in a flooding emergency
- Who in the village has equipment such as pumps / generators that they would be willing to bring if needed and be prepared to operate them.
We are in the process of setting up a dedicated email address for Linda in her Flood Warden role, which should be live in a few days.
It is important to emphasise that although the Parish Council wish to be as proactive and helpful as possible, it is up to the individual householder to ensure their property is adequately protected against flooding (keeping drains clear etc). The Environment Agency is very clear on that point.
