The project will get underway when the bells are dismantled and removed from the tower during the week starting on Monday 16 June 2025.
We need one or two more able-bodied volunteers to help Nicholson Engineering Ltd’s technician with this heavy and dusty removal work. Later, currently scheduled as week commencing 1 September 29, the repaired bells, complete with new headstocks and fittings will be hoisted up the tower and installed into the repainted frame.
When the bells are away, the frame will be de-rusted, repaired and repainted during two weeks (dates not yet fixed) for which the same or other additional volunteers will be needed.
