BadbySings

If you sing in the shower, that is good, but communal singing brings so many extra
benefits. BadbySings is all about singing for fun, and feeling good. Whatever your
ability, you will be welcome to come and sing with us.

Singing facilitates social bonding, so is a good way to make friends. It reduces blood
pressure, heart rate and stress hormones. People who are more engaged in singing
have lower rates of depression and higher levels of wellbeing and life satisfaction. It
is important for dementia patients to remember the songs that they love.

BadbySings has over 20 regular singers, and more occasional. We are a mixed,
friendly group, and we don’t just read the science: we sing! And we know that
however we feel at the start of a session, we are smiling and relaxed by the end. And
we know that our voices are improving.

So, whatever your ability, men and women, come and join our friendly group. You
too can enjoy the benefits. Many of us have missed out on opportunities to sing in
the past, but we are glad not to have missed this one. We cover a wide variety of
music: we sing our favourite songs, we learn and sing some harmonies, we discuss
lyrics, chat noisily, laugh, and move. We will soon be going on a group outing to
Rugby Theatre, to see one of our number in a stage musical.

We sing in Badby Village Hall on Tuesdays 7.30 to 9pm. Sessons are £1.50 to cover
the cost of the hall and equipment.

And if there is anyone out there who would like to lead a session, then you are also
welcome.

Come and join us, and make singing a regular activity in 2024.
