A huge thank you to everyone who helped put on the scarecrow festival, and all the activities that go with it, and of course to everyone who came along to enjoy themselves. While the dog show was missed, we were entertained well by The Field Jammers, and it was nice to see so many people sitting out enjoying refreshments on The Green, courtesy of The Maltsters and their partners, and other local food stalls, and of course browsing the craft, produce and plant stalls and having a go at the games.
There were around 30 individual scarecrows on display, some beautiful creations on the theme of Kings and Queens, and lots of people took tea and cake in the church and had a tour of the church tower. In all, the day raised around £1900 in support of St Mary’s, which is much appreciated. (We’re finalising the amount, just waiting for the sponsor income to be confirmed and final bills to be paid.)
