Within Badby Parish News, Summer 2022 we explained our vision of having an area for tree planting and relaxation. The location being targeted is the scrub area at the playing field. This you will notice has started with a first cut of the scrub having taken place by local farmer David Fennell. The second phase will be scraping of the top surface to clear roots of the various brambles and weeds within. This will then leave a base for tree, hedging and wildflower planting.
Along with our appeal for amnesty trees we now have a second appeal to you all for materials to make a shelter, picnic tables and benches. May we ask you to look around your garden, shed or barn for any of the following:
- wood suitable for table and picnic bench construction.
- Large posts, corrugated iron sheets and old guttering for the shelter, the shelter will also be used for the colleting of rainwater.
- Wire netting and protection wraps for small trees.

Nick Cook of Monsal Dale Limited, builder to the Bedding family currently converting the United Reformed Chapel in Chapel Lane into a family home has kindly donated a large amount of wood used within the Chapels old flooring towards our project. A big thanks to them in helping with our materials appeal.
