The Peter Mayne Memorial Match
Badby & Farthingstone Cricket Club are hosting the inaugural Peter Mayne Memorial Match in honour of their former player who sadly passed away earlier this year and is much missed. Peter was a founder member of the club back in 2009, a loyal player and fine bowler with over 75 wickets to his name.
The friendly match will take place on Sunday 10 August (1.30pm start) at the club’s ground in Badby (Long Roods, off Chapel Lane, Badby NN11 3AQ) against Braunston Paddox CC, a club that Peter played with and against on several occasions, in what should be an entertaining affair.
Linda Mayne is set to present the winning captain with the trophy, with the match set to be played on an annual basis. Food and drink will be available at the ground throughout the afternoon, for which they will be a small charge to cover club costs.
We look forward to seeing you on 10 August.
