St. Mary’s Church News

Obituary : Many will have known Chris Nelson who, sadly, died on 11 August 2025.   He was a noticeable presence in Badby and generous in his support of St Mary’s Church over many years following his move to the village with Gill.  In addition to being a member of the PCC, he served at various times as Churchwarden, PCC Treasurer and PCC Secretary, and latterly he was an active member of the PCC’s fundraising committee.  At a time of difficulty or disagreement, he could be relied upon to provide sage advice, or make a philosophical and reflective observation which would defuse any tension.  His kindness and unfailing good humour made him a very popular member of our community, and he will be greatly missed.

Church Flowers : Decorating the church for harvest festival will take place on Saturday 11 October, when helpers and autumn flowers, foliage, berries, fruit and veg will be very welcome!
Badby Bells : Irritatingly, the return of our bells has been delayed further until at least the end of October.
