As many of you may have observed, the horse chestnut tree on the small green at the junction of School Lane with Main Street has not been looking healthy for a few years now. Expert advice has been sought and all possibilities to prolong the life of the tree have been explored, however its condition is now such that more drastic action needs to be taken. The Parish Council has therefore agreed to a major crown reduction which will address the immediate safety concerns, and to plant a successor tree nearby in the autumn. With the approval of the tree conservation officer at West Northamptonshire Council, the work is planned to take place within the next week.
