Fraudsters will go to great lengths to obtain your cash!
We have reports from residents of UNSOLICITED and UNVERIFIED CALLS using tactics such as ” Your Amazon Account has been compromised”, “Your broadband is being used fraudulently”, “There’s a virus on your computer” – they will claim to be from a legitimate organisation such as BT, VIRGIN, TALK TALK, named BANKS etc.
Please TALK ABOUT FRAUD with friends and/or relatives who may not see this information as readily as yourself.
A simple message to pass on is to treat ALL unexpected and unverified calls/texts/messages with caution:
A. ACCEPT NOTHING ON FACE VALUE – Be suspicious!
B. BELIEVE NO-ONE, UNTIL IT IS CHECKED, VERIFIED BY OTHER MEANS – friends, direct call to company via other method
C. CHALLENGE EVERYTHING – OR, PUT THE PHONE DOWN!
